COMICS ABOUT HISTORY: Close to the Surface

During a writer’s residency in 2025 at the Linden Place Historic Museum in Bristol RI, I began to work on my first comic with a historical focus. Close to the Surface explores my relationship with Bristol’s history as a newcomer, artist, and parent. For the public reading, I read a text and displayed some of the drawings that will be incorporated into the forthcoming 20 page black and white minicomic.
